What is The difference between day and night makeup?

Read in Hindi

Often, despite applying makeup correctly, we still fall short of achieving the final look we envisioned, as we don’t get the result we’ve seen on others, because despite using the right products and techniques, our timing might be off, making our makeup appear incomplete.

In such cases, we need to work on the way we use products and the choice of shades. There is a considerable difference between day and night makeup. Just as we choose different clothes for day and night, whether it’s going out or attending a party, the choice of clothing differs for day and night. Similarly, the technique of doing makeup remains the same, but the choice of shades varies. So, your confusion will be cleared up here.

How should makeup be done during the daytime?

During the daytime, our faces are often exposed to sunlight or natural outdoor light, causing each shade applied to the face to look different as the light’s reflection can alter our makeup look. In such cases, light and matte shades give a very good daytime makeup look. You can also use demi-matte shades, but light colors such as peach, light pink, coral, teal blue, and soft brown are the shades that appear radiant in sunlight and also enhance the face when used during the day. You can use these in matte, demi-matte, or light shiny types, but avoid glitter. Never use glitter during the daytime as it can be very harsh on the eyes due to daylight and sunlight, potentially ruining your entire look.

What is the right way?

During most of the daytime, our faces appear quite clear and natural, so there’s no need to apply high or full-coverage foundations. Always use low or medium coverage foundations during the daytime. During the day, spots and blemishes on the face are clearly visible, so you shouldn’t skip using color corrector. If you don’t neutralize dark circles, acne marks, or discoloration with color corrector, the makeup will start to look gray and may oxidize soon.

Use powder according to your skin type. If you have oily skin, set your makeup with compact or banana powder. If you have dry skin, use normal loose or translucent powder. However, banana powder is best for every skin type as it prevents light flash caused by sunlight.

Use lip and cheek tints instead of powder blush. They not only give color to the cheeks but also look very natural. They are perfect for both day and night. Apply neutral or nude makeup on the eyes. Avoid glitter, shimmer, and deep colors on the eyes as they make daytime makeup look too flashy. You can use soft shiny shades. If you don’t have lip and cheek tints, you can apply a light peach blush that suits every skin tone.

Choose light or bright shades for lipstick. Such as – bright red, pink, peach, soft brown, etc. Avoid shades like wine, plum, dark brown, and deep red as they not only make your look too flashy but also add years to your age.

Color eyeliner is quite popular these days, and they look very beautiful and attractive during the daytime. You can use such color eyeliners to enhance your makeup look, but use glossy or matte eyeliners only. Avoid shiny or glittery eyeliners during the day.

Highlighter is also very important, but avoid golden shade. You can use shades like bronze or champagne, but apply them lightly. Too much highlighter will make your face look too shiny and instead of makeup, your face will start to look oily.

Mascara is essential for both day and night makeup because without it, eye makeup looks incomplete. So, use normal smudge-proof mascara.

Kajal or kohl depends on your preference. In eye makeup, you only need to avoid glitter and shimmer. You can apply eyeliner, kajal, and mascara as per your choice.

What is the difference between day and night makeup?

During the daytime, light matte shades are used, while for nighttime makeup, glitter, shimmer, and deeper colors are mostly used.

Daytime makeup looks as beautiful as it is neutral and normal. Neutral makeup also looks good at night, but if a little shine is added, the makeup looks even more appealing.

During the day, soft-colored clothes look good on us, and in summers, printed clothes suit more. But at night, we wear shiny or deep-colored clothes, and according to the clothes, our makeup and hairstyle are also done, completing the entire look.

These days, the trend is soft, clean, or glass makeup looks. Glass makeup is done in winters and clean makeup in summers, and both types of makeup can be done at any time of the day or night because both fall under the category of neutral makeup. But if your skin is dry, you can also try a glass makeup look in summers.

For evening or night parties, you can try looks like smokey eyes with glitter, winged eyeliner, false lashes, and also use deep and glossy lipstick.
